An early 20th century circular Chinese porcelain box, the cover decorated in famille rose enamels with a scene of children playing outside in open countryside, powder blue border surrounding and powder blue base, six-character red Qianlong seal mark to underside, 8cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: The piece appears OK with just some glaze crazing apparent under an eye glass.
A 19th / early 20th century Chinese watercolour scroll painting on paper, depicting a sage standing in bare feet in pale red and blue robes, inscribed with calligraphy upper left and signed with single red seal mark, further signed with four character calligraphy mark to pasted fragment of board lower right, within gold silk borders, the painting 37 x 13¾in. (94 x 35cm.), glazed in simple black painted frame.* Condition: Painting has some evidence of old creasing from being rolled, but no splits, tears or other damage. Paper has moderate time staining. Colours are subtle but do not appear to be faded. Silk border also shows some old creasing. The silk border has one large tear at centre right (which does not extend into the main paper painting) and a smaller 1in. tear beneath that to the edge of the silk border. Not examined out of frame.
A Chinese porcelain famille rose hundred boys bowl, mid-20th century, printed iron red Qianlong seal mark to base, finely enamelled with the hundred boys pattern, depicting boys playing in a garden landscape, the interior with conforming decoration of boys playing near a rocky outcrop, 6¾in. (17.2cm.) diameter; together with a pair of saucers with similar decoration, the exteriors in yellow glaze, printed seal mark to base reading 'The hall where one dwells in benevolence', 5 1/8in. (13cm.) diameter. (3)* Condition: Very good condition, with no faults (chips, cracks or other damage). The enamelling is in very good condition.
A rare Chinese carved hardwood watch stand, 19th century, in the form of a monument, the top carved with two dragons around a flaming pearl and a four character seal mark, the hinged trunk door similarly carved with dragons and a central pearl amidst clouds, with circular watch aperture holding a later oversized plated pocket watch, on a diaper carved base with pierced balcony and key carved plinth base, 18in. (47cm.) high, base 7¼ x 5½in. (18.5 x 14cm.), minor damage and losses to balcony.* Condition: Part of the capping of the front left post of the balcony has been chipped and there is a small chip from the front left top rail. There is a small piece broken from the hidden fascia enclosing the watch, in front of the winder and its stem - approx ¾ x ½in.
