A CHINESE WUCAI MONTH CUP SIX CHARACTER KANGXI MARK AND PROBABLY OF THE PERIOD With a deep body and a flared rim, the exterior painted with a blossoming hibiscus tree in a stylised landscape, the reverse inscribed in underglaze blue with a poem reading qing xiang he su yu, jia se chu qing yan, and a seal with the single character shang, all supported on a short foot, 5cm. Provenance: from the collection of John Blakeway, d.1986. Cf. Kangxi. Yongzheng. Qianlong. Qing Porcelain from the Palace Museum Collection, p.65, pl.48 for a full set of twelve month cups. A CHINESE WHITE GLAZED ANHUA 'BEEHIVE' WATER POT, TAI BAI ZUN SIX CHARACTER QIANLONG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1736-1795 The body decorated with stylised roundels on a crackled white glaze, the mark indistinct, together with a hard wood stand, 8.8cm. ATTRIBUTED TO DONG QI CHANG (QING DYNASTY) DU FU'S POEMS IN RUNNING SCRIPT A Chinese album of calligraphy, ink on silk, title-slip by You He and dated autumn of the xin mao year with one illegible seal, inscribed and signed Dong Qi Chang, with three artist's seals, and one collector's seal which reads gu ren you huan wang shi jian shang shu hua, together with a letter signed Jiang Zhao Rong and dated the 18th year of Republic Period (1929) with three seals of Jiang, mounted album of nine double leaves, 24.5cm x 24.5cm.
ANONYMOUS (REPUBLIC PERIOD) DIAMOND SUTRA IN RUNNING SCRIPT A Chinese handscroll of calligraphy, ink on paper, title-slip by Zong Hai and dated the tenth month of gui chou year with one illegible seal. Four collectors' seals of Jin Shao Tang family (a wealthy family during the Republic period), 117cm x 26cm. Provenance: brought back from China by Sir Thomas Octavius Callender who was the Managing Director of British Insulated Callender's Cables. The company had a large contract in Shanghai in the early 1900s.
A CHINESE BRONZE TRIPOD 'DRAGON' INCENSE BURNER 17TH/18TH CENTURY The body of compressed circular form cast with two pairs of confronting dragons contesting the sacred pearl of wisdom, with a waisted neck and two loop handles with a foliate design rising from the rim with key fret band, all raised on three tall legs cast with stylised leaves, a three character mark in seal script to the base reading song yue lü, 17.5cm, 2.5kg. Provenance: from the collection of Professor J Norman Collie, FRS (1859-1942) and thence by descent.
TWO CHINESE JADE SEALS AND A PENDANT (PLEASE NOTE ONE OF THE SEALS IS HARDSTONE AND NOT JADE )QING DYNASTY One seal with a chilong surmount, the other trapezoidal, each carved with characters to the faces which read zheng qi yi bu mo qi li, ming qi dao bu ji qigong and chuang jing jiao zi, the white jade pendant carved with characters and stylised mythical beasts, 8.5cm. A CHINESE SOAPSTONE SEAL QING DYNASTY OR LATER Carved from a honey-coloured stone in the form of a boulder, with seven sages in a mountainous landscape, a ten character inscription to the side, the seal face with twelve characters, 8cm. Cf. Classics of the Forbidden City, Imperial Seals of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, pp.214, 215 and 217, nos.172, 173 and 175 for similar examples in the collection of the Palace Museum.

A paper scroll on silk backing painted with two cranes standing on mossy rocks; large pine tree to one side with flowering peony below; Chinese characters to one side with seal mark; wooden weight bar to the base. 672 grams, scroll 77 x 200cm; image 128 x 63cm (Scroll 30 1/4 - 79; image 50 1/2 - 24 3/4"). Property of an American gentleman; acquired 1970s-1990s. [No Reserve] Fine condition.
Han Dynasty, 206 BC-220 AD. A gilt-bronze seal with Qilin unicorn to the top, horn curving from nose to back of head, moth open; swirls to the top of each leg; sitting on a square base engraved to the underside with Chinese characters. 81 grams, 30mm (1 1/4"). Ex Zhuang collection; acquired from the late 1990s. Fine condition.
