20TH CENTURY CHINESE PAINTING ON SILK, a triptych depicting a mountaneous landscape with pavillions by a lake, in three frames, the central painting 76cm x 40cm (with script and seal stamped), each flanking painting 70cm x 20cm, each mounted, framed and under glass Provenance: From the collection of the late Mr George McCourtie.
A Chinese porcelain powder blue shallow dish, Qianlong zhuanshu seal mark (1736-95) and of the period, circular with very slightly everted rim and shallow circular foot, 13 3/8in. (34cm.) diameter.* Some scratching to glaze to inside and some small scratches to glaze to exterior. Kiln dust and creamy discolouration to glaze on base from the firing. Small pale spot to glaze near rim. No chips, cracks or restoration.
A pair of Chinese watercolour on silk paintings of birds, mid-20th century, the birds perched on pine branches amidst prunus blossom, signed with red seal and six character mark; together with another similar with a butterfly amidst blossom, signed with red seal and three character mark, all 8¾in. (22.25cm.) diameter. (3) * All in good condition, with no faults. One small fox mark to silk covered slip on butterfly painting. Not examined out of frames.
Cheong Soo Pieng (Singaporian, 1917-1983), Harbour Scene Chinese ink and watercolour on paper, two character signature and red seal mark lower right edge 36¼ x 17 1/8in. (92 x 43.5cm.)* Simple black frame. Under glass. Water mark staining along lower edge of the watercolour and heavier water staining to silk border. Minor water stain to border at upper right corner. A few faint fox marks to sky. Paper is very slightly cockled. There is a small white paint drip to the centre of the watercolour, just above the boats - this appears to have been a mistake by the artist, as there is a correction to add a black line across the white drip mark. A few small dark spots to the upper corners, which may be old adhesive spots to the surface of the paper.

(34.25 x 28cm.); together with another watercolour on silk of a kingfisher in flight over water lilies, unsigned, 8 x 12in. (20.25 x 30.5cm.). (2) * - Bees: Frame lacks glass. Some cockling to paper behind the silk. 1930s-50s oak frame. - Kingfisher: Some cockling to paper behind the silk. A few small fox marks. Otherwise good. Modern frame.

(62.25cm.) high; together with a similar jar of ovoid form, painted with birds and butterflies amidst flowers in a rocky garden, 11½in. (29.2cm.) high, lacks cover. (2) * Jar lacks cover. No other faults.
