A George III Provincial Silver Tankard, by John Langlands and John Robertson, Newcastle. 1787 tapering cylindrical and on spreading base, with a central reeded band, the domed cover with openwork thumbpiece, the scroll handle with heart-shaped terminal18.5cm high, 22oz 16dwt, 710grFully marked near rim, part marked on cover bezel and with maker's mark only on handle. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a bruise on the handle. The surface has been lacquered with has discoloured slightly.

It is also engraved with the portcullis and further engraved for the Tewkesbury Regatta.Fully marked near handle and further part marked inside cover. There is some minor surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The capacity is approximately 1 and 1/4 pints.

The other tankard has very small nibbles to the base rim, some gilt rubbing to the handle and upper rim, some paint fading.
