An 18th Century Birchwood Peg Tankard. The recumbent lion carved thumb piece pegged to the incised handle with heart pendant. The domed lid enriched with a shallow carved crowned lion within a beaded border. The plain body cut with four feet in the form of lions. 8½ ins (22 cms) in height.
