A George II English silver straight-tapered armorial tankard by John Fossey with a double domed cover, scroll thumbpiece, the scroll handle with a heart terminal, a moulded girdle and a stepped foot, London 1733. 27.5oz Ht 17.5cmCondition report: This is an excellent, honest example, a little heavier than others of the period with marks that, although not crisp are clear enough. The armorial is crisp and contemporaneous with the piece, no soft areas. The hinge is in good order, but rocks slightly. Slight push area on inside at lower handle joint, but no splits.
