An Austro Hungarian silver gilt and carved ivory tankard, Stephan Mayerhofer, Vienna 1835, the cylindrical ivory sleeve exceptionally carved with a medieval boar hunt, with lions, bulls and a castle visible in the woods beyond, all mounted in gilt-metal with S scroll handle, the cover with floral finial above bands of cast scrolling flowers and foliage, with conforming decoration to the foot, marked to cover and foot, 21.5cm high bearing 'M Parker Collection, No 25' aged label to base CONDITION REPORT: Some discolouration and tarnishing to the gilt mounts - would benefit from a good clean. Hairline crack to the ivory by the bears paws and other little natural fractures in places. Ivory body would also benefit from a good clean. Overall appears to be generally in good order. Please note: Trevanion & Dean does not ship items containing ivory outside the EU. The government have proposed legislation to create a UK law to ban the sale of all ivory which is likely to come into effect by the end of 2018. Please note this means that this lot is legal to sell now but may not be in the future.
Clarice Cliff - Jonquil - A Bon Jour six place tea service circa 1933 comprising large teapot, conical sugar bowl, tankard milk jug, six globe shape teacups, saucers and and bread and butter plate all hand painted with a band of stylised flowers and foliage above a Delecia streaked ground, Bizarre mark.
A heavy hallmarked silver Christening-style tankard; the underside marked for Garrard's, Panton Street, London, assayed London 1890; approx. 226g (within Garrard & Co., cardboard outer box) CONDITION REPORT: Height is 8.5cm. This looks as if it has been in a box since new apart from silver tarnish which would clear with a good polish. The piece appears in good general original condition, no dents or problems noted.
An 18th century Chinese porcelain tankard, later fixed with a scrolling pewter handle (10cm high); together with a Chinese porcelain bowl, the exterior rim decorated with a ruyi-style band above bats, fruits and a central Shou character, four-character red seal mark to base (12.5cm) diameter (2) CONDITION REPORT: The bowl is quite dirty inside with some discolouration that mostly rubs away. Appears to be in good general overall original condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration noted. The outside of the body appears bright and well painted and the foot also looks in good order.
