A rare Channel Islands creamware tankard late 18th century, the large tankard with slightly tapering body and large loop handle, decorated with an elaborate black transfer printed cartouche, with the motto `Freedom with Innocence, Unanimity is the Strength of Society`, the rim handpainted with the local inscription `DANIEL ROBERT, DE LA PAROISSE DE SAINT MARTIN, GUERNESEY, 1785.`, 6in. (15.5cm.) high, hairline crack from rim and to base.
