Massive German Parcel-Gilt Silver Tankard. 2719 g. Probably Neresheimer & Sohne, Hanau, Late 19th CenturyIn 17th century style. The lid is surmounted by a cast figure of Diana with a hound above three straps topped by eagles and foliate decoration and chased lobes. The body of the tankard depicts a frieze of cast figures at leisure in a garden above two bands of bosses. The tankard stands on open fretwork bun feet whle the handle is with a cast rampant lion finial and leafy terminal. Small pseudo marks to thumbpiece.A tankard of very similar pattern with marks for B.Neresheimer& Sohne, see Sotheby's, New York, 18th October 2018, Lot 715.
