Set of eight graduated silver plated early 20th Century tankards by Gaskel & Chambers of Birmingham, of pot belied form. Impressed marks to base 'Gaskell & Chambers, Birmingham, Made in England'. The tallest tankard height is 26cm approx, smallest approx 6cm. (8)(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Rather tarnished and worn in places, clear impressed marks to base, grubby with minor dinks in places overall.
A Charles II silver hinge lidded tankard, of tapering cylindrical form, the hinged scrolling handle pin pricked with initials within scrolling borders, the hinged flat topped lid with a cast thumbpiece, the front engraved with a later armorial, height 14.5cm, London 1682, maker John Sutton, engraved underneath 24.11.12, weight 745 gms. Hallmarked silver tankard and tray, gross weight 4 1/2oz. Condition: cup has inscription to front and minor dent to rim of base, hallmarks slightly rubbed, tray is ok, minor tarnishing but otherwise good, neither piece has any repairs, tray width - 12.5cm, length - 15.5cm, cup height - 7.5cm
