POLICE, a silver plated tankard, hallmarked 1941 presented to the Notts and England test cricketer, Reg Simpson, by detective colleagues in the Nottingham City Police C.I.D. on the occasion of his 21st birthday in February 1941. Simpson had joined the Nottingham City Police in 1936 and served with them until late in 1941 when he joined the R.A.F. during the 2nd World War.
