A rare William and Mary miniature silver tankard, by George Manjoy, London 1692, tapering circular form, scroll handle, flat hinged cover, embossed foliate leaf border, height 4.3cm, approx. weight 0.6oz. Purchased from Phillips, London 26 April 1996. For two similar examples by George Manjoy see, Victor Houart, L`Argenterie miniature, Office du Livre, 1981, page 161 plate 194 and 195. for a similar example see, Christie`s, King Street, An Important Collection of Silver Toys and Miniatures, October 11, 1972, lot 87.
DOULTON TANKARD - BARLOW the two handled tankard with two oval panels, both depicting horses heads on a buff ground, and mounted with a silver rim. Impressed marks, Doulton Lambeth, 1877, LB monogram mark. 6 1/2ins (16cms) high *There is also a very faint monogram mark which appears to be for Hannah Barlow. It is not as clear as the mark for Lucy.
A small famille rose Chinese tankard decorated with figures and landscapes within blue foliate/floral borders and a Chinese circular shallow bowl with serpentine rim decorated in blue and white with figures either side of a river surrounded by a rocky landscape, trees etc (tankard 13cms high, dish 34cms dia)
