A George III lidded tankard London 1791, maker`s mark T.W within lozenge, double scroll handle, domed hinged lid with chair back thumb piece and saw-tooth border, the body with reeded girdle, the plain upper half ornamented with an eagle and crown armorial above monogram, the bottom half and lid with later Victorian floral repoussé decoration, 8½in. (21.6cm.) in height, weight 32oz. See Illustration.

All at approximately 21ozs, 17.5cm overall height CONDITION REPORT General overall condition good with minor surface wear and scratching, commensurate with age and use. No visible signs of major repair or damage, although top strap between joint and cover has file marks on underside and joint may have been re-pinned at some time. Rim to cover has very minor distortion and file marks. Marks to underside of base are slightly rubbed but still clear, engraving is crisp. Interior of base has hallmark shadow.
