CONDITION REPORT: Lot 550: Good condition, with chipping to foot rim, can not be seen when mug is standing. Provenance - all of Martin Brothers lots have come from a private collector.

A GEORGE III SILVER LIDDED TANKARD by John King (probably), London 1770, of gentle baluster shape, with moulded girth, the stepped domed hinged cover with open work thumb piece, double scroll handle with heart shaped terminal, 20cm tall, 768g (24.7 troy ozs) gross, with a Harvey and Gore Ltd headed piece of paper, dated 8 June 1951, stating 'A George III silver tankard - made in London, in the year 1770 - by John Kentesber' (?)
Edward VII 1897 Pattern Sword and Associated Items Attributed to Lt Col C E C Bartlett, MC, 1st Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment, the sword is complete with the leather covered field service scabbard. Grip retains the original wire. Blade is well worn with much of the etching now missing. WKC mark to the base of the blade. Accompanied by EPNS tankard presented by the Singapore Polo Club, October 1921, Hallmarked Silver christening cup presented by the warrant officers and sergeants of B company 1st battalion South Staffordshire regiment, October 1925 and a small polished wood cigar / cigarette box with mother of pearl inset regimental cap badge and name plaque to the lid.
