A SCANDINAVIAN PEG TANKARD of circular form, the scroll handle with ball attachment and capped with a caryatid mask, the hinged lid engraved with trailing foliage and shells, and scratch engraved `CCSS/BKDW`, the body with further engraved initials and stylised engraved decoration, the underside with a prick dot engraved inscription, the whole on three ball feet, maker`s mark of IK, in a heart-shaped punch, probably late 17th/early 18th century, height 8.5"" (c.22ozs). Provenance: The Lebedev collection , Stud House, Hampton Court Palace.
A large 18th Century Worcester porcelain Tankard, the cylindrical body transfer decorated in blue with a Chinoiserie style scene in blue of buildings, water and gardens etc., with a large pine tree and fretwork style garden fence, blue crescent 'C' mark to underside, 14cm high CONDITION REPORT: All appears very good for age, no problems noted.
A fine and heavy early 19th Century hallmarked silver Christening Tankard of campana form, the high scrolling arched handle cast with a handle unusually modelled as a sea horse, the body with shaped vacant cartouche heading a vertical repousse leaf design, on circular cas foot with textured finish and scalloped edge, gilded interior, makers mark CD, assayed London 1828, 9.5cm high to top of handle, approx. 165g

A BRUNSWICK STATE TWO-HAND PROCESSIONAL SWORD OF THE GUARD OF JULIUS, DUKE OF BRUNSWICK AND LÜNEBURG IN WOLFENBÜTTEL (1528-89), NO. 167, DATED 1573 with straight double-edged blade of flattened-diamond section, stamped with two differing bladesmith`s marks, in a shield a tankard on one face and on the other a further shield filled with two vertical panels filled with a sword and a chevron, rectangular ricasso formed with a pair of slender up-turned lugs in the middle, boldly incised with the crowned Ducal monogram, the number and the date within a linear frame on each side, iron hilt comprising a pair of ribbon-like quillons each interrupted by a chiselled and engraved fish-shaped moulding, curled forward and back at the respective down-curved terminals, a pair of small flat engraved serpentine lugs at the base, engraved inner and outer ring-guards, each interrupted with three baluster mouldings and filled with a saltire, the former with thumb-ring, thick pierced crutch-shaped pommel, and later leather-covered wooden grip 134cm; 52 3/4in blade Provenance The Hanoverian Royal Collections, Schloss Marienburg For a discussion of this group and other examples sold in these rooms see Thomas Del Mar Ltd, 8 December 2010, lot 155.
