Of gentle bulbous form with hand chased sinuous scrolls terminating in heart-shaped motifs enamelled in shades of blues, greens and turquoise, upper section set with turquoise bosses in rub-over mounts, domed cover lacking boss, and the scroll handle applied with an exaggerated flying scroll handle enamelled with a heart-shaped motif, Height 20cm Foot note:- for a similar example of Knox's work, see S.A. Martin, (published London 2001), "Archibald Knox", p. 195. CONDITION REPORT: Hallmark - the "&" mark of L & Co is visible, yet mistruck, other marks all clear. Although the colour of the tankard is good, there are issues to condition, the flat foot it bent/dented and turns upwards, this has caused a crease to lower section of body. Cover is part marked - these marks are clear,. The cover is lacking the central boss, also the small dent to cover. Handle has been pushed down and has a split in seam. Gilt interior is good yet dis-coloured. Heavy tarnish in areas.
