A LATE 17TH CENTURY CREUSSEN TANKARD with gilt metal mounts, the body applied in low relief with head and shoulders portraits, possibly Charles I on one side and Henrietta Maria on the other, heightened in enamel, dispersed with floral relief, the gilt metal mount engraved with foliate flower decoration and topped with a finial depicting a soldier holding a spear, 12 1/4" high overall (see illustration)

A Continental silver mounted and ivory tankard, 19th century, probably South German, of oval form, the hinged lid embossed with a border of two winged cherubs heads amidst scrolls and foliage, having a winged figural thumbpiece and female caryatid handle, the carved ivory body decorated with a Bacchanalian scene of merry cherubs picking and carrying grapes to a wooden vat while others drink wine and play, on a beaded and foliate raised foot, 21cm high, unmarked.

A Creussen pewter-mounted stoneware tankard or Apostelkrug, applied with the Twelve Apostles in low relief and coloured with bright enamels, beneath a white band bearing their names, the handle applied with a lion mask, the pewter mounts with traces of gilding, late 17th century, the handle broken and reglued, 23.5cm.
