A George II silver bell shape tankard, having plain baluster body with gilt-washed interior and moulded rim, upon a spreading circular foot, the applied scrolling handle with acanthus leaf engraved integral thumbpiece, marks worn but appears to be Gabriel Sleath & Francis Crump, London 1754, h.13cm, 12oztStands well.No signs of old engraving.Gilt-washed interior excellent.No splits or repairs.Tiny dent to front centre, which is only visible from certain angles.Some marks partly worn only.Overall an excellent and clean example.
A George III Silver Tankard With a Later Spout, The Tankard by Fuller White, London, 1760, The Spout With Modern London Assay Office Marks baluster and on spreading foot, with central reeded band, engraved with a coat-of-arms, the hinged domed cover with openwork scroll and shell cast thumbpiece and engraved with a crest, with ivory-insulated scroll handle, with later rocaille-cast beak-form spout24cm high, gross weight 46oz 18dwt, 1,459grWith non-transferable standard ivory exemption declaration number VRETC3WU.Fully marked underneath and inside cover. Further marked on handle with FW maker's mark. The spout marked with modern London Assay office marks. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The spout was added in the 19th century and the handle was cut an ivory insulators added at the same time. There is a repair to the lower handle junction.

Cover ill fitting. Handle a metal replacement.Vase - top rim chipped and fritted.

Canvas is uneven. Small patch of losses to upper right hand corner. Areas of thin paint. Sporadic areas of retouching and infilling. Most notable patch to upper left hand corner above tankard, upper right hand coner, and throughout the brickwork of the fireplace.
