A Chamberlains Worcester tankard, in the manner of George Davies, decorated with Asiatic pheasants in landscape, dated 1794. Height 8.5 cm, label beneath "Godden Reference Collection" (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The handle has been broken in three places and reattached. There are no losses. The gilding to the rim is rubbed. The main body of the tankard is in generally good order although there is a glaze imperfection on the bottom edge running for approximately 4 cm x 1 cm. The base has a 4 way star crack.

The tankard also has a lid with a Maltese cross style finial towards the handle.

Several dents, including one large dent to the body opposite the handle, and other smaller dents to the body and one dent to the foot rim. The rim is also slightly misshapen. Overall knocked around.

REGALIA OF THE ORDER OF FROTH BLOWERS ORDER. The silver plated and enamel neck badge and chain , of the Ancient Order of Froth Blowers, (Motto Lubrication in Moderation. Comprising of a Grand Typhoon badge with a partaker sat on a Beer Barrel, the motto and A O F B. an ornate chain with Beer Glass, A O F B, etc decorations. Awarded to Captain Kettlewell Special New Zealand Representative. A tankard with similar adornments as per the chain, inscribed 'Presented by Sir Alfred Fripp KCVO.KB to Grand Typhoon Captain Kettlewell for services rendered. The Order was started to raise monies foe East End Waifs etc, after the Surgeon Alfred Fripp operating successfully on a Bert Temple. Although the Order only lasted a few years, the monies raised by the light hearted venture, reached over £5,000,000 in today money. It was vilified by the Temperance Movement, convinced it was 'Cavorting in Sin and The Liquor Trade'.
