Prächtige Elementvase der "Luft" aus der Serie "Vier Elemente"in Form einer Schenkkanne. Über ovalem Fuß bauchiger Korpus mit abgesetztem, eingezogenem Hals und reliefiertem, weit ausschwingendem Ausguss. Seitlich tuchförmiger, drapierter, königsblau staffierter Henkel. Schauseitg stark reliefierter, teilw. vollplastisch modellierter Dekor aus verschiedenen mythologischen Figuren und Elementen, die Luft symbolisierend. Ausguss und Fuß umzogen von Federreliefs. Zwischen reliefplastischen Wolken fliegende Kraniche, Enten und Adler sowie vollplastische Putten mit Taube bzw. Dudelsack. Seitlich sitzende, bekrönte Göttin Juno mit Zepter in antikisierendem, rosafarbenem, von Goldblüten gemustertem Gewand, begleitet von einem Pfau als ihr Attribut. A suite of Art Deco glassware, early 20th century circa 1930, each smoked glass of trumpet form with red glass basal knop above an inverted baluster stem, comprising: ten tall glasses, each 14cm high, and eleven short glasses, each 12.7cm high, with ten matching sundae dishes, each 12.2cm diameter (31) (at fault) CONDITION REPORTSFive glasses show small chips to the rim. Several other glasses show what appear to be moulding faults to the rims. Four of the sundae dishes show chips to the rim, one of which has developed into a descending crack. One shows a crack within the stem. One shows a ground rim.
A 'Friendly Hunt' firing glass, c.1750, the ogee bowl engraved 'Friendly Hunt' beneath a band of fruiting vine, raised on a short plain stem above a thick foot, 11cm. Cf. Bonhams, The Ron & Mary Thomas Collection of English Glass, 4th June 2008, lot 39 for a drawn trumpet firing glass. The Friendly Hunt was a meet associated to a Jacobite Society in Worcestershire. Founded in 1747, the Association met annually in rotation in the neighbouring towns of Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Dudley, Kidderminster and Stourbridge.
