A Lithyalin Green Glass Vase, mid 18th century, of panelled baluster form with trumpet neck and with marbled tones of white and amber on a green ground, 35cm high The name Lithyalin is derived from the Greek word ''lithos'', meaning stone and is a type of marbled glass developed by Friedrich Egermann (1777-1864) of Hajda in Bohemia, using opaque coloured glass to produce a marbled surface in imitation of semi-precious stones. Very minor surface wear. No chips or cracks.
