A pair of silver candlesticks, by Bernard Instone, Birmingham, 1925, of trumpet form, each stem centred with a rectangular baluster, centred with an enamel cabochon with ropework, 14cm (2) Bernard Instone (1891-1987) spent time with Emile Lettre on Berlin`s fashionable Unter den Linden Boulevard and then with John Paul Cooper in Kent. After fighting in World War One, he returned to the West Midlands, where he established the Langstone Silver works in 1920. Although the Langstone works produced tableware, jewellery was always Instone`s forte.
