A collection of various glass wares including a selection of wines of trumpet form, two bell-shaped drinking glasses, a pair of rummers on moulded bases, two lampshades, etc CONDITION REPORTS The two etched glasses - one has a chip to one corner at the base - the other has smaller chips to the base all the way round. Some light scratches to the main bodies all conducive with age and use. All in need of a good clean. General wear and tear to include firing faults, etc. Set of three trumpet-shaped glasses - two have significant chips to the bases. The other bigger set of trumpet-shaped glasses - one has a chip to the rim. All items have general wear and tear conducive with age and use and are in need of a good clean. An early 18th Century French red tortoiseshell and Boulle mantel clock of Louis XIV design with 19th Century movement by Vincenti & Cie, No. 2566, the 8.5ins diameter gilt brass dial with raised and blue and white enamel numeral cartouches with Roman numerals, to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell, contained in case with shaped top, surmounted by a cast gilt brass figure of an angel playing a trumpet, with flambeau finials, the base with dragon and scroll pattern feet, 33ins high (some Boulle missing in places and in need of restoration)
A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN GU-SHAPED PORCELAIN VASE, the trumpet-shaped neck painted with warriors, some on horseback, the centre with children and other figures to a bulging centre panel band, and further figures below, on flaring foot, with double circle blue mark to base 18" (47cm) high. A brass cavalry trumpet, by Henry Potter, Charing Cross, London, stamped with WD and broad arrow, “C&M, 1879, 3/81, 1 RD”, length 15”. Belonged to Trumpeter Wilson, 1st (Royal) Dragoons, who was with the Heavy Camel Regiment in the Gordon Relief Expedition. He was killed on 19th January 1885 at Abu Kru, a brief battle which took place two days after the famous encounter at Abu Klea. In somewhat battered condition commensurate with circumstances.
