A Victorian figured mahogany octagonal trumpet shaped work table on double lyre supports to scroll carved pedestal and platform quadruped base to scroll feet and castors, 49.5 cm diameter x 69.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Finials are all broken variously and a couple of larger areas of veneer missing from the edges of the four supports. One shelf - edge to the foot is slightly worn compared to the others. Areas of chipping and small areas of veneer missing throughout. Veneer has a white cloudiness to it in various places. Knocks, bumps and scratches throughout. There is a knock with a white mark to one side. The interior is worn and several centre pieces missing to each compartment. No key. Unknown if lock working. Wear and tear, knocks, bumps, surface scratches, etc. See images for details.

Romano-British Trumpet Brooch. Circa 1st - 2nd century AD. Copper-alloy, 15.68 grams. 55.37 mm. A very good example of a Romano-British Brooch. The type is know as trumpet brooch but this one is different in that the bow is of open-work form with part of the bow curved back on itself. At the top is a circular insert for enamel or glass. Traces of rust from the iron pin and spring mechanism can be seen on the face of the head. Ref: Mills, Roman & Celtic Artefacts. fig. RB90. Property of an Essex collector.

A continental silver mounted ivory cheroot holder, 19th century, the holder of trumpet form decorated with guilloche enamelled scrolling wreaths, with spring loaded ejection mechanism and ivory mouth piece, stamped 'Austria' and 'Sterling', in fitted case, 9.5cm long, with a silver and ivory novelty bookmark modelled as a trowel, indistinct hallmarks with 'JF' maker's mark, 8.5cm long (at fault), and a 19th century ivory locket (3) Trevanion & Dean does not ship items containing ivory outside the EU. Trevanion & Dean recommends that buyers check with their own government regarding any importation requirements prior to placing a bid. A buyer's inability to import these lots cannot justify a delay in payment or sale cancellation. The government have proposed legislation to create a UK law to ban the sale of all ivory. The two pieces of metalware have quite heavy wear, dents, misshapen rims and interior and exterior damage.

Additional InformationEach with crazing to the glaze, the jardinière with crack running down the neck of the piece. The taller vase with a couple of craze lines to the neck, but the piece rings true.

The one with the clear glass air twist stem has a couple of tiny nibbles to the foot rim. Natural inclusions to the glass throughout and one of the further trumpet bowls has a 1cm x 3mm chip to the foot rim. The pontil marks are all snapped.
