Hawkes & Son fanfare trumpet or aida , with pipes for keys C, D, Eb with mouth piece and case, serial 43977 157cm max length This fanfare is thought to have belonged to Jim Terris, described as 'the finest trumpet player in the British Army'. Jim Terris served during WW1 in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders as a stretcher bearer and was wounded at the Battle of the Somme. The fanfare trumpet is accompanied by a hand written note and typed up copy of an article relating to Jim Terris. The vendor of this instrument discovered the note after the instrument was bought from an estate sale by auction.

A 20-BORE FLINTLOCK QUEEN ANNE TRAVELLING PISTOL BY SAMUEL LOUE, 5.25inch three-stage turn-off cannon barrel, the underside of the breech with proof and maker's stamps, border engraved signed rounded action the butt with hallmarked silver butt cap decorated with the figure of Victory in the form of a winged angel with trumpet, vacant escutcheon, the side plate lacking and the void filled. See pages 71 and 72 of The Queen Anne Pistol 1660-1780 by John W. Burgoyne for a discussion on butt caps suggesting this type of cap was made by James Morrison.
A Combination Oil Lamp & Bulb Horn A rare and interestingly-designed lamp, suitable for either a late Victorian motorcycle or bicycle. A single turn bulb horn but with a small lamp mounted into the 4-inch trumpet of the horn, the front bezel holding a plano-convex glass, hinging to reveal an oil reservoir, with a winding burner. The horn being nickel-plated brass, with an adjustable mount, active reed and red rubber bulb. Fundamentally sound, the unit has seen some use, with several dents and bruising. Other arm missing. trumpet player - intact, gilt rubbed. cello player - end of cello missing, end of bow broken and restuck. drum player - intact, some black missing under feather on hat. violin player - bow restored, otherwise ok. bagpipe player - intact. oboe player - feather on turban restored, gilt rubbed, otherwise ok. . Smaller figures. woman green dress - Arm, book and feet restored, marked R to base. woman pink dress - left arm restored, chips to bonnet, frills and base. purple coat - hands and arms restored crack to wig, . sousaphone player - chips to back of instrument, marked R to base. Oboe player -instrument broken at both ends and restored, feather on turban restored, pseudo crossed sword mark. larger female - one foot restored, chips to other foot, thumb restored, chips to cuffs. Conductor pink coat - missing baton, one hand off but we have it.
