A large Chinese underglaze blue and famille rose decorated vase with flaring, trumpet rim and curvilinear handles; decorated with circular panels depicting a variety of landscapes; about 55 cm high, the base with Qianlong six-character mark, but not of the period.Provenance: The Property of a Lady. From a Private UK Collection. With only minor wear, including some minor scratches to body, and scratching to base. Some firing imperfections to interior of rim.Repair/crack to one handle which is visible under UV light. Please see extra image.
dating: first quarter of the 20th Century provenance: Prussia, Brass and white metal trumpet, complete with white/black rope. Band with Prussian eagle, embroidered in polychrome and gilded thread, on a white, silk ground, black border, white fringes. Grenades at the angles. Monogram 'FAS' on the other side, above a grenade in white seam on a black ground, a star of the order of black eagle in the angles. dimensions 74 x 60 cm.

Originally handmade by mothers in Africa for their children from old fabric and cloth, the golly doll was adopted as the mascot and trademark for the Robertson's confectionery brand around 1910 after the company's founder John Robertson visited the US and noticed children playing with them. Robertson's Gollies have been collected by people across the UK and around the world for generations but garnered a contentious image in the 1980s because of links to racism. The trademark was removed from Robertson's branding in 2001.

A CEREMONIAL TRUMPET BELONGING TO THE DUCKWORTH FAMILY OF CHESHIRE. A Ceremonial trumpet by Hy. Keat & Sons of London with decorative central boss, the flared end engraved with the Duckworth family crest and motto 'Nitor in Adversum'. Mounted with a woolwork banner featuring a central cross and four sheaves of wheat, with brown cord tassels. 68cm. Joseph Battersby Duckworth 1847-1912 was a successful cotton trader and business man with interests in America and throughout the Empire. It is thought by the descendants who are offering this item for sale that it may well originate from his time as High Sheriff of Cheshire.
A pair of Continental clear glass and gilt metal mounted twenty-four light chandeliers in early 19th century taste, loosely of trumpet form, the scroll branches issuing around central circlets, hung with beaded swags and shaped pendants overall, each approximately 150cm high, 142cm diameterPlease note: Only one chandelier from this lot is fully assembled and on view at Donnington Priory. Condition Report: The chandeliers are made of lacquered and pressed sheet metal, and various elements are bent. Including, in the case of the assembled chandelier, some of the sconces and the leaves adorning the circlet. Some drips, drops and beads may be missing or replaced. There are traces of gilding though overall the surface is a little darker. One of the scroll elements to the top has a small hole.The second chandelier is presented unassembled, and has not been inspected fully built. All 24 arms of this example are present, and all 14 foliate scrolls that adorn the corona and circlet are there too. One of these scrolls, to the corona, is missing a roundel. Another has a crack to the centre.All but one of the drip pans are present, however the lot is offered with an assortment of associated drips pans as well as an additional ball terminal (in addition to the ball pendant that goes with the chandelier).Condition Report Disclaimer
A Victorian emerald green glass lustre with white overlaid trumpet shaped rim painted with gilt foliate design, the body with gilt highlights and twelve spear headed prisms all with hand painted gilt finish, 34.5cm high, condition: no obvious damage to body, some of the prisms as found - see pictures for further details
