A brass cavalry trumpet, by Henry Potter, Charing Cross, London, stamped with WD and broad arrow, “C&M, 1879, 3/81, 1 RD”, length 15”. This item belonged to Trumpeter Wilson, 1st (Royal) Dragoons, who was with the Heavy Camel Regiment in the Gordon Relief Expedition. He was killed on 19th January 1885 at Abu Kru, a brief battle which took place two days after the famous encounter at Abu Klea. In somewhat battered condition commensurate with circumstances.

A Volkstedt eight piece monkey band after MeissenConducter - baton is broken. Trumpeteer - chipped to the trumpet. Drummer - loss to the tip of the tail. Piper - loss to the bottom of the bagpipes. French horn player - with broken hand and wear to the horn. The rest appear to be in good condition.
Group of five sterling vessels. Two footed candy dishes, two trumpet vases, and one Francis I compote. Both footed candy dishes with floral designs along the undulating rim and marked "Sterling C403 Loaded base" along the bottom. Smaller trumpet vase marked "Preisner Sterling Weighted 136" along the bottom and etched "BETTY" horizontally on one side and "JUNE 28 1961" along the other side. Larger trumpet vase marked "Sterling Weighted Reinforced PV6" along the bottom. Compote with fruits and leaves along the top and bottom rims. Marked with "1928 - 1953" along the base.
