A Late 18th/Early 19th Century Flintlock Musket by Henry Nock, .750 calibre, the 99cm round steel barrel with London proof marks, the double line engraved lock plate with teardrop terminal, engraved H.NOCK, the walnut stock with brass fore-end tip, three brass trumpet shape ramrod pipes, trigger guard with flattened baluster finial, stepped plain side plate and butt plate with stepped shaped tang, with steel ramrod, two sling swivels, a buckskin sling and socket bayonet, the blade stamped JOHN GILL, the later black leather scabbard with brass mounts, overall length of gun excluding bayonet 140cm, including bayonet 186cmCondition report: Action works, holds at full and half cock. Orange rust pitting to barrel exterior and pitting to bore. Rust pitting to the lock plate and hammer. Bruising to stock. The bayonet scabbard is later.

A rare Venetian small cruet, circa 1700Of hourglass form with a flared trumpet neck with a vermicular collar, two trailed turquoise bands to the rim, the slender ribbed spout with a pulled band to the tip in turquoise glass, the double-loop handle also delicately ribbed and applied with pincered ornament, the body trailed with five concentric threads and applied with opposing gilt mask prunts flanked by smaller prunts in turquoise, a further gilt mask prunt below the spout, the base moulded with 'nipt diamond waies', 11.9cm highFootnotes:ProvenancePaul Gresswell-Wilkins CollectionThe origin and dating for cruets of this type stems from comparisons to pieces with similar trailed threads presented to Frederik IV, King of Denmark, in 1709, now in the Danish Royal collection at Rosenborg Castle, which all share similar decorative elements including mask prunts drawn up into points and ribbed handles with pincered ornament. A Venetian or façon de Venise small cruet, late 17th or early 18th centuryDecorated with trailed and combed lattimo threads, the bulbous baluster form with a flared trumpet neck trailed with a vermicular collar in clear glass, the slender spout and double-scroll handle delicately ribbed, the handle with elaborately pincered ornament in clear glass, 9.8cm highFootnotes:ProvenancePaul Gresswell-Wilkins CollectionPieces with combed decoration presented to Frederik IV, King of Denmark, in 1709, now in the Danish Royal collection at Rosenborg Castle suggests a late 17th or early 18th century date for much glass decorated in this way. See Gudmund Boesen, Venetianske Glas på Rosenborg (1960), nos.86-90. However, as the combed glass at Rosenborg is all coloured it is just possible that examples in clear glass are slightly earlier.
