A pair of late Victorian silver trumpet stem vases Stokes & Ireland Ltd., Chester 1897, of fluted trumpet form with folded rims and weighted circular bases, 5in. (12.75cm.) high. (2) Condition: Marks slightly rubbed but clearly legible. One base has a dent to one side and small ding. The other base has a very small dent to one side.No other damage or defects.

Elizabeth Cobbold (British, 1767-1824) A paper cut out sillhouette of exotic birds on a branch with an angel playing a trumpet and a handwritten verse below paper cut out 23 x 19½cm (9 x 7in) Provenance: From the collection of the late Christopher Hogwood CBE Elizabeth Cobbold of Ipswich sent paper cut -outs as invitations to her annual St. Valentine’s Day Ball in the early 19th Century, making around 60 cut-outs a year.
