The stand of rectangular form, painted and gilt with iron-red and blue scrolls issuing from gilt trumpet-shaped ornament, gilt with further palmettes and urns, on richly-gilt griffin supports and applied with satyr-mask terminals, with a central oval well holding a candlestick and flanking two circular wells for an urn-shaped pounce-pot and cover and an inkwell and cover (some areas of restoration and light rubbing to gilding).
