A William Moorcroft Cornflower pattern trumpet vase, early 20th century, probably for James MacIntyre & Co, decorated on a shaded green ground, on circular foot, green inscribed signature, impressed number 12, 22cmCondition report: There is a sprayed over patch on the underside and on the base of the interior. The foot and vase have not been parted and there are no signs of restoration or over spraying where the foot joins the base of the vase. There is a large restored 'J' shape crack visible on the interior of the vase approximately 14cm long. It may be that at some point, an attempt has been made to pierce the base in order to accommodate an electrical cable to create a table lamp and the resulting forcing home of the lamp fitting has caused the damage.
