Kenny Ball (1930 2013), John Bennett (b.1936) and Peter Rudeforth (b.1957) When Kenny Ball and John Bennett cofounded a trad jazz band back in 1958, little did they know that more than 50 years later they would still be recording together. Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen, with Kenny playing trumpet and John on trombone, had a string of hits during the 1960s including 'Midnight in Moscow', which sold over one million copies and earned gold disc status. This early success set the band on the road to international stardom, rubbing shoulders with many music legends, and guaranteed their place as one of the most influential bands in the history of trad jazz. Kenny Ball (1930 2013) was an English jazz musician, best known as the bandleader, lead trumpet player and vocalist in Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen. John Bennett (b.1936) jointly formed Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen with Kenny Ball in 1958 and played with the band for over 50 years. Peter Rudeforth (b.1957) was a member of Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen for twelve years, including Kenny's last ever performance in Chemnitz in 2013. He also played many times with Mr. Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band. A multipage music score for Kenny Ball Hits signed on the front page by Kenny Ball (and signed again by Kenny Ball on page 4), signed on page two by John Bennet who has drawn a trombone by his signature and signed on page two by Peter Rudeforth who has drawn a trumpet by his signature, approximately 11 inches x 8.5 inches. In addition to being an accomplished jazz trumpet player, he could play many other instruments. He is very well remembered for presenting Record Breakers a British children's TV show, themed around world records and produced by the BBC. It was broadcast on BBC1 from 15 December 1972 to 21 December 2001. It was originally presented by Roy Castle with Guinness World Records founders twin brothers Norris McWhirter and Ross McWhirter.
