ROD: B James & Son Ealing London The Avocet Angling Times Prize Rod 1956 with B James & Angling Times letters, whole cane butt, split cane middle and tip, no intermediate whips, red agate butt & tip guides, high bells intermediates whipped burgundy (tip section ferrule silk replaced) bronze ferrules, wood stoppers, 23" trumpet cork handle, red button, fine throughout c/w MOB includes a rare letter from B James hand signed on headed paper 13th June congratulating H. B. Goodall on winning the rod and outlines the time scale for building it, plus an Angling Times letter signed by Ken Sutton congratulating Mr Goodall, noting the rod has been ordered from B James c/w a paper cutting from the Angling Times re the capture of a Dace of 1 lb 2 oz 12 drms which won the rod for Mr Goodall.
