A collection of silver mounted cut glass scent bottles / dressing table jars to include a scent bottle and jar by Henry Mathews, Birmingham, 1921, having silver and blue guilloche enamel lids, the bottle standing 5in. (12.7cm.) high, together with a pair of Victorian cut glass scent bottles with floral decorated silver lids, Birmingham, 1888, 4½in. (11.4cm.) high and a pair of cut glass conical trumpet form scent bottles with silver mounts. (6) *Henry Mathews pieces - enamel good, no damage, scent bottle missing stopper; Victorian pair - matched stoppers, silver lids with dents, maker's marks rubbed; conical pair - one with damage to silver collar, both stoppers with nibbles, etc, overall fair/good.
An elegant German silver trumpet vase Chester import marks for Berthold Muller, 1924, 925 silver, of cylindrical tapering form with planished design, raised on circular stepped foot with stylised decoration, the bottom foot rim inscribed, 7½in. (19cm.) high, weight 11.85 tr.oz. *Very good, excellent condition, nothing to note.
A mid-18th century composite stemmed airtwist wine glass c.1750, the drawn trumpet bowl over a multi-spiral airtwist stem over a teared, inverted baluster knop, on a (trimmed) conical foot with pontil, 15.7cm. high. *The foot has been trimmed. One tiny fleabite nibble to the rim, which is detectable with a fingernail. No other faults.

An unusual Beilby wine glass, c.1770, the drawn trumpet enamelled in white with a spray of fruiting grapevine, the reverse with a small plum sprig, raised on a multi-series opaque twist stem above a conical foot, the rim with traces of gilding, 18cm.Provenance: a private London collection.It is more usual for glass of this type to be decorated with a continuous band of fruiting vine; the fruit sprig is an unusual addition.
A South Staffordshire enamel patch box commemorating the Treaty of Amiens, c.1802, decorated with the figures of Fame and Plenty standing back-to-back beside ships at sail, Plenty holding a victory wreath above her cornucopia, Fame with a banner suspended from her trumpet, inscribed 'Duncan, Jervis, Abercrombie, Nelson, Howe', above them inscribed 'Fame Proclaiming her Heroes, Peace with Plenty', the base coloured a dark blue, the interior cover fitted with a mirror, a little fill to the base, 5.4cm.Provenance: from the estate of the late Barry Lock.The short-lived Treaty of Amiens lasted only one year but engendered the only period of true peace between 1793 and 1814. The uneasy truce was ended by Britain declaring war on France in May 1803, following Napoleon's increased attempts to control Western Europe.
