Lot 47

A blue and white trumpet vase in Kangxi style, 19th century, painted with a feng and dragon amongst flames and precious objects (19.5cm)Good general overall original condition, there a couple of very minor original and very small firing cracks to the underside of the foot and one or two original glaze bubbles.  Also one or two minor scratches but no restoration, chips or cracks etc.  There is some discolouration to the vase interior otherwise it looks quite good.

Lot 56

An attractive porcelain vase and cover, Kangxi (1662-1722), painted in underglaze blue on the tall hexagonal body with lange leizen separated by potted plants and on three feet, the cover (chipped) with a lingzhi, frits (11.5cm) (2) This has come privately and has a folded foot and a rough pontil mark to the central underside.  There are some bubbles present in the foot and the circular foot is not “uniform” although we do not think this indicates any grinding down of glass to the extremities.  There is one area of the underside of the foot that has a slight “kink” although this is not necessarily indicative of restoration, the main double spiral stem appears in good order as does the inverted trumpet shaped bowl.  The central section of the bowl (although viewable on the outside, prevalent on the insie) has a rising wrythen imperfection that manifests itself as a raised area to the middle although again in our opinion this is natural  and not as a result of any problematical issues.
