An 1845 pattern infantry officer`s sword of The Rifle Brigade, almost straight slender fullered blade 32½", by Wilkinson (no no. on backstrap) etched with crowned VR cypher, "Rifle Brigade" and strung bugle within scrolled foliate panels, and owner`s coronet over "G" reversed "E" monogram, regulation triple bar brass hilt with traces of gilt, incorporating crowned VR cypher, turn down inner portion, in a plated (worn) scabbard with 2 rings. A .270 BOLT-ACTION SPORTING RIFLE, NO. 270. 24-inch barrel with the maker`s name signed in gold, the receiver mounted with a Pecar 4x81 telescopic sight, bolt with swept-back handle and safety catch, the half length figured stock with pistol grip and cheekpiece, steel butt plate, 14 1/2-inch pull, 9lb. 2oz., nitro proof. The rifle was built for Arthur Turner by the well-known rifle maker David Lloyd and is made very much in his characteristic style.
HOLLAND & HOLLAND. A .222/410 "ROYAL" MODEL SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUN, NO. 17668 converted from .250, built for the King of Italy, 26-inch barrels with 3-inch chambers, the rifle barrel lined, short raised rib with folding leaf sight, raised fore sight, mounted with a Henstoldt Diasta 4x32 telescopic sight with claw mounts, the frame, locks and top lever with acanthus scoll engraving, the maker`s name signed within an arched banner, gold lined cocking indicators, set front trigger, extended top strap, 15 3/4-inch well figured stock with pistol grip, cheekpiece and rubber recoil pad, sling swivels, 6lb. 13oz., Austrian nitro proof. Holland & Holland confirm that the rifle was built in 1900 for the King of Italy and that it was originally supplied as a .250 hammerless ejector rifle. Umberto I, King of Italy. Born in 1844, he was king of Italy from 9 January 1878 until his death by assassination on 19 July 1900. He was deeply loathed in far Left circles, especially amongst anarchists, because of his Conservatism and support ot the Barva-Beccaris massacre in Milan in 1898. He was buried in the Pantheon in Rome, the last Savoy to be buried there. The rifle appears to have been built shortly before his death.

A .222 REM FALLING BLOCK HAMMER RIFLE, NO. 5989. 24 3/4-inch replacement barrel, in the original style, with raised fore sight, rear sight with folding leaves to 200, short raised rib dove-tailed for telescopic sight, the frame, non-rebounding back lock, bolted hammer and underlever engraved with Celtic strapwork borders and retaining some original hardening colour, 14 1/4-inch figured stock with pistol grip and chequered steel butt plate, 5lb. 7oz., German nitro proof, in its canvas case, receiver drilled and capped on the left hand side. The rifle was originally built as a .360 miniature express rifle. It was subsequently Parker rifled as a rook rifle and was finally re-barrelled as .222 in 1988 by Waffen Joachim.
