A Third Reich aluminium Army belt buckle, by Hermann Aurich, Dresden, dated “38” (requires cleaning); 2 x 1939 War Merit Crosses, 2nd class with swords (one with minor corrosion, the other faded to grey metal); 25 pdr brass shell case, dated 1940; a clip of inert German rifle cartridges (one bullet missing, the clip rusty); 2 other cartridge cases; HMSO publication “The Australian Army at War, 1939-1944” and a WWII news sheet “The SSHHH” dated April 2nd 1945. A .22” late model Webley Mark 3 air rifle, number A1330, with parallel telescopic sight ramp and markings on the trigger block which is not serrated, the walnut stock having plastic disc in the butt. Near VGWO & C, retaining virtually all original blued finish (very slight wear to the stock, the loading lever chipped)
An early .22” BSA Standard underlever air rifle, 45½” overall, barrel 19½”, number S743 (1919-1920), the barrel stamped in small letters “W R Pape, Newcastle”, the walnut butt with hand chequered panels. An early .22” BSA Airsporter Mark I air rifle, number G12677 (1948-54), with screw type rearsight and folding aperture sight on the trigger block, the air chamber with early type etched markings, and no markings on the barrel, the 3 piece walnut stock having “BSA” in rectangle impressed into the butt. GC, the air chamber markings clear (scear fails to engage)
A .177” Webley Mark 3 Series 3 air rifle, number 13117 on loading lever and beneath barrel, markings on air chamber which has no telescopic sight ramp, the walnut stock has the slender ribbed fore end and the distinctive trigger guard of the Series 2. GWO & C, retaining much original blued finish, but with some very light surface rust (plastic butt disc missing, some knocks to butt)
A .32-40 Model 1893 Marlin Safety full tube magazine underlever rifle, 44½” overall, round barrel 26” with address and patent dates to 1893, marked “Special Smokeless Steel”, and with later Marbles ratchet rearsight; number 313984; the frame tang drilled and tapped to take an aperture rearsight; with walnut butt and fore end. GWO & C (some bruising to butt). Plate 11
A steel combination bullet mould/ reloading tool for .44-40 cartridge, by “Ideal Mfg Co Newhaven, Ct USA”, with patent dates to “Feb 11 & Dec 23- 84”, retaining traces of nickel plating overall. GC (some wear); and a bronze pincer mould for 80 bore hollow base rifle bullet. GC (base plug missing, sprue cutter an incorrect replacement). (2)
An assembled Vic rifle regt officer’s sword, thin flexible DE Spanish blade 31”, etched and gilt for half length on both sides with fenestrated, stylized floral panels and marked “Fabrica de Toledo 1880” on one side at forte with Spanish R Arms on the other, regulation plated hilt incorporating crowned strung bugle, stepped pommel and backstrap with chequered thumbpiece, wirebound fishskin grip, in its plated scabbard (kinked, plating bubbled) with single ring. Sword near VGC, the blade and hilt retaining most original finish (minor rust speckles to inside of guard)
An American .50” centre fire conversion Springfield Model 1864 breech loading single shot rifle, 56” overall, barrel 36½”, hinged breech stamped with eagle’s head and “1866”, the flat lock bearing American eagle, “US Springfield” and “1864”; the fullstock having steel mounts, including 3 barrel bands and butt plate tang stamped “US”, sling swivels, and replacement cleaning rod. GWO & C (cleaned overall, with slight pitting). This Allin conversion was reduced from .58” to .50” by brazing a tube into the barrel. Plate 11
