An 1827 pattern officer’s sword of The Rifle Brigade, almost straight, fullered blade 33”, by E Thurkle, Maker, Soho, London, etched with crowned VR cypher, strung bugle and “The Rifle Brigade, The Prince Consort’s Own” within scrolled fenestrated panels, regulation steel hilt, the guard incorporating crowned strung bugle, stepped pommel and backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings. Basically GC (pitted and worn overall)

A .577/450” Volunteer Martini Henry rifle, 50” overall, barrel 33½” with B’ham proofs, plain unmarked frame with government proofs, inspector’s marks and number 21218, walnut stock with regulation mounts, sling swivels, original steel cleaning rod, and bayonet lug on barrel band. A Belgian made 11mm Chassepot Model 1866 bolt action needle fire rifle, 52” overall, barrel 32½”, the breech with traces of Liege proof marks, Chassepot trade mark, and number 990, the bolt also bearing Chassepot trade mark and Liege proofs, the walnut stock with regulation steel mounts, sling swivels and cleaning rod, the butt stamped “Bernard Tambeur, Liege”.
