Britains set 195 British Infantry in Service Dress at the Trail, grey helmets, in Whisstock box, G in F box all pieces complete, slight chipping of paint on several figures. One rifle slightly bent. Box shows areas of dicolouration with areas of the paper covering peeling away . Label is ripped, heavy rubbing to the edges and pencil marks on the base. Replacement tie card.
Britains set 1383 Belgian Infantry of the Line, green khaki, ROAN box, G box F All figures complete. Light rubbing to the soldier's faces and artillery. One rifle very slightly bent. Box is scuffed around the edges and corners with areas of the paper peeling away. Scratches present on the label along with several small spots of discolouration, possibly water damage.
Britains Model 1876 Bren Gun Carrier with crew, in original box, G in F box Rubbing of paint present on areas of soldiers' uniforms and one soldier's face and rifle. Very small scratches to the carrier and light chips to the paint on the edges. Very small dent to the back. Box is bent and dented on one side, scuffing to the edges, several small stains and an area of pencil graffiti.
Britains set 2010 Airborne Infantry, in ROAN box, VG in G box Figures show very small chips to paintwork on their weapons and have been retied in the box. One rifle is slightly bent. Box is very lightly scuffed around the edges and corners, pencil graffiti on base of box, signs that sellotape was once attched along the sides.
Rare 69 Cal. French rifle percussion cap carbine circa 1822 with round tapered barrel cut with seven grove rifling. Typical American conversion from flint lock (nipple missing) walnut. Typical French regulation brass furniture, the butt plate tang marked VIG18 (Virginia Infantry), the side plate with cancelled ordinance marks.
ROBERTS FREDERICK: (1832-1914) British Field Marshal, Victoria Cross winner for his actions at the Indian Mutiny on 2nd January 1858. Two T.Ls.S., Roberts FM, each one page, 8vo, Englemere, Ascot, Berkshire, 5th & 11th December 1908, to W. T. Cosslett. In the first letter Roberts states that he is pleased to learn of a proposal to hold an air-rifle tournament at Penarth and adds that he will be pleased to send a signed book as a competition prize, in the second letter Roberts confirms that he has sent the book in that day's post. Together with the book referred to, a hardback edition of Forty-One Years in India, published by MacMillan & Co. Ltd., 1908 (reprint of the one volume cheap reissue). Signed by Roberts in bold black fountain pen ink to the half title page, 'Presented to....(the name of the receipient, Wm. T. Coslett, inserted in another hand)....for proficiency in Rifle Shooting at a meeting held at Penarth, by the author, FM Lord Roberts' and dated December 1908 in his hand. Some age wear to boards and binding a little loose. Generally G, 3
A 19th century percussion cap carbine rifle, 1853 Enfield pattern. With walnut full stock, brass mounts and rotating ramrod, barrel length 52cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Good clean condition. Action good. Not riffled and with pitting on the inner barrel. Short crack along the ramrod channel. Other minor dings and wear to the timber but overall very good. Screw heads in good order. One screw lacking on the brass trigger guard.
A 19TH CENTURY SNIDER ENFIELD CONVERTED THREE-BAND PERCUSSION RIFLE the walnut stock with a steel lockplate engraved '1857 / Enfield' and with a 'VR' cypher, the barrels with various proof marks and folding ladder sight, fitted with a brass fore end tip, trigger guard and butt plate, overall 137cm long (excluding ramrod).
