A Georgian 18th century pattern military issue flintlock musket, the lock being marked Heaton & Smith with a GR under crown, The tang, butt plate and trigger guard marked with a Rifle Volunteers hanging horn crest, GP under crown London proof marks together with indistinct markings, a shield thumb plate and a brass patch box, and a octagonal barrel with bayonet locking pins and a steel ram rod. A mid-19th century percussion hunting rifle, makers' mark to the top flat partially obscured, steel furniture finely engraved and decorated in gold with stags, with a double-set trigger, the full length wooden stock with elaborate scrolling decoration and ivory tip to the barrel, 28" octagonal adjustable rear and foresight to the rifled barrel, complete with ramrod, the silver patchbox cover further engraved with scrolling foliage and in gilt with a figure beside a stag, 113cm overall length*Obsolete calibre.
