A rare vintage c1965 Gilbert made 007 James Bond ' Ten Movie Characters ' action figure set to include characters; James Bond (with pistol), James Bond (with rifle), James Bond (scuba outfit), Odd Job, "M", Goldfinger, Moneypenny, Largo Cruel, Domino and Dr. No (with poison vial). Figures appears near mint and complete. Within the original box (cellophane wrapped for display purposes by vendor). Superb set. Rare.
Two Chinese white metal related items, a trophy awarded for the Shanghai Scottish Challenge cup, won by C.W Glover in 1923, the base supported by three stylised rifles, stamped Tuk Chang and a shield, the white metal plaque titled Inter Port Challenge trophy, Inter Port rifle match winners Shanghai 1934Provenance: Lieutenant Colonel Claude William Glover helped design the Mulberry Harbour used in the Second World War invasion of France, died in 1978 aged 89, he was stationed in army service in Hong Kong from 1923-1939 and latterly moved back to the Southampton area of his birth.
Manufacture d'armes de Saint - Etienne - a French rifle for the Arabian market, stamped 'Mle., 1874, M.80.', 117cm long, and a bullet (2). Bought from an Arab tribesman in 1959 in a village called Mukeiras near the Yemen border, in what was then the Western Aden Protectorate. The battalion armourer disabled it by taking off the firing pin and drilling holes in the breech.
