62 bore Double percussion rifle by Alexander Henry, with 29 ins finely patterned damascus barrels, blade foresight, 100 - 200 yards leaf rear sight, broad file cut rib inscribed Alexr Henry 12 South St Andrew St Edingburgh Patent No.869, platinum plugs, brass mounted wooden ramrod, fine scroll, folliate and border angraved action, hammers and tang with banner inscribed Alex Henry, slide safety, finely engraved scroll furniture and forend, 14,1/4 ins chequered well figured stock with cheek piece and chequered steel butt plate, no.1516. This weapon which has immaculate bores was built c.1877 for the Earl of Warwick and is complete in the makers brass mounted mahogany case which contains ebony handled tools, cleaning rods, cap box and nickle plated cap dispenser with a quantity of paper and wad attached bullets.
