Crowned strung bugle incorporated to the hilt. Housed in its steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Blade etched with crossed lances, strung bugle, Victorian crown foliage and reverse with the same but the regimental details 28th Cheshire Rifle Volunteers. Owners initials to shield at the forte. Blade 81 ½ cms, overall 98cms. Untouched as found.
British 1827 Pattern Rifles Officers Sword of the 1st Cinque Ports Rifle Volunteers, fine regulation pattern sword with the hilt covering retaining the wire binding. Crowned strung bugle incorporated into the hilt. Housed in its steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Blade retains much of the original polish. Etched decoration consisting of foliage, strung bugle and lower scroll with 1 C.P.R.V. Other side of the blade with foliage, crowned VR cipher and retailers details of Duke’s Hastings. Blade 81 ½ cms, overall 105cms.
