CASTRO FIDEL: (1926- ) Cuban Prime Minister 1959-76, later President 1976- 2008. D.S., Fidel Castro, the document being a five Pesos bank note of the Revolutionary Movement. The bank note bears to the front "Revolutionary movement of 26th July" and a printed drawing of a revolutionary with his arm up holding a rifle. Signed by Castro in bold black ink to a clear area of the document. To the verso the document bears a printed statement of Jose Marti `When there are many men without decorum, there are men who carry with them the decorum of many men´. Heavy folding. Repaired to the verso. G. £400-600 José Martí Pérez (1853-1895) Cuban national hero and an important figure in Latin American literature.

A beautiful wheel-lock rifle dating: 17th Centuryprovenance: GermanyHeavy, octagonal, riled, 18 mm cal. barrel, at the base a deep mark and a beaded frame, iron rear-sight, brass foresight; large wheel-lock with flat plate and remains of engravings, external wheel with engraved, brass cover, engraved and pierced hammer, spring pan cover, the button with the brass effigy of an angel; wooden full stock enriched with bone plaques and bars, on the right side the effigy of a deity with putto, on the opposite side the effigy of Aphrodite with a putto, the counter-plate with castles on hills, a trophy under the lock, along the barrel castles, cities and villages between trophies and hops; anatomic, iron trigger guard; set trigger; wooden grip with bone, engraved tip.dimensions: length 114 cm.
