Badge. 5th West Middlesex Rifle Volunteers Edwardian Sergeant’s pouch belt plate circa 1902. A fine scarce short-lived die-stamped blackened example. Queen’s Westminster Rifle Volunteers Officer’s Pouch Belt. A fine and rare example. Brown leather belt with ornate silvered fittings comprising whistle in its holder, attached by a double chain to a lion’s head chain-boss, and a finely struck plate in the form of a portcullis mounted with St George and Dragon beneath an Imperial crown. Companion pouch, the flap mounted with King’s Crown above a portcullis within a strap inscribed ‘QUEEN’S WEST.R RIFLE VOLS’, all in silvered metal. VGC
Victorian Rifle Volunteers Officer’s Patent leather Pouch. A good example of black patent leather, with silvered fittings, the flap mounted with a badge in the form of a Maltese Cross with lions in the angles and ball finials to the points, bearing a crowned ‘VR’ cypher within the Garter. The pocket retains tin lining, this with original paper tailor’s label for Hawkes & Co. of Piccadilly. Minor age wear. GC.
