A group of eight penknives comprising an ivory combination knife, a French Laguoile horn combination knife, novelty knifes formed as a rifle, a bird and a fish, a hallmarked silver and mother of pearl and three others.Condition: mother of pearl 'rifle' knife has chips to it, some corrosion present in most on blades, all moving parts appear to be ok.
Great War and Iraq Operations Medal Group of Three 8th (Post Office Rifles) London Regiment & Rifle Brigade, consisting of British War and Victory medals “375111 PTE L W MURKHAM 8TH LOND R” and George V General Service Medal 1918-62 with single clasp Iraq “52646 PTE L W MURKHAM RIF BRIG”. The medals are mounted for wear and remain in good overall condition.
Victorian Rifle Brigade Other Ranks Helmet Plate being blackened crowned laurel wreath with battle honours to scrolls on the wreath, centre with Maltese cross having battle honours to arms of the cross, centre with circlet having regimental details and crowned strung bugle. Three lug fittings to the reverse of the plate. Accompanied by a Victorian London Rifle Brigade other ranks helmet / shako plate being blackened eight pointed star with the Victorian crown replacing the top point, oak leaf wreath to the centre with strap having regimental details and coat of arms to the very centre, City of London crest to lower section of the plate. Two lug fittings to the reverse of the helmet plate. Both remain in good condition. (2 items)
Imperial German 36th (Magdeburg) Fusilier Regiment Presentation Statue, fine bronzed figure of a standing imperial German infantry soldier in full combat uniform with equipment and rifle. Mounted onto a steeped black base with engraved silver plaque to the front, “Dem scheidenden hauptmann Taehelmann in treuer Kameradschaft gewidmet Das Offizierkorps des Magdeburgischen Fusilier-Regiments No36”. To the base of the figure is a makers stamp for R BELLAIR & CO Berlin. Slight bending to the spike and small areas of bronze finish missing in parts but generally a very good example. Stands 40 ½ cms tall.
George V 1827 Pattern Rifle Brigade Officers Sword, regulation pattern example with crowned strung bugle to the hilt, fish skin covered grip with wire binding. Housed in its leather covered field service scabbard, section of replaced leather to the lower part. Single edged blade which is etched with foliage, crowned cipher and crowned bugle with Rifle Brigade regimental details. The hilt has been chromed. The blade measures 82cms, overall 100 ½ cms.
Victorian 1st Dumfries Rifle Volunteer Corps Other Ranks Helmet Plate, white metal eight pointed star with the top point being replaced by Victorian crown, laurel spray, circlet with 1ST DUMFRIES R.V. CORPS, St. Michael and crook on “A LORE BURN” scroll to voided centre. Three lug fittings to the reverse of the plate. Remains in good overall condition.
Victorian 1827 Pattern 18th Kent Rifle Volunteers Officers Sword, fine example of a regulation pattern sword with crowned strung bugle to the centre of the steel guard. Fish skin covered grip with wire binding. Slightly curved blade having etched foliage decoration, strung bugle and lower section of one side with etched details of “KENT RIFLE TH XVIII VOLUNTEERS”. Retailers details polished out. Housed in its original steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Blade 82cms, overall 100cms.
Fields Patent Falling Block .400” Black Powder Express Rifle No.1927, round barrel 65cms with matted top flat, engraved AMMUNITION 400 EXPRESS, stamped HENRY’S PATENT A&T 5905, with platinum lined 2 leaf rear-sights to 200 yards, scroll engraved action with FIELD’S PATENT No.1972 1877, side cocking lever, swivel locking catch, chequered walnut for and pistol grip, horn buttcap (well worn). Good condition, clean bore, age worn overall.
5th Battalion Cheshire Rifle Volunteers Cross Belt and Pouch Set, fine black leather cross belt fitted with white metal kings crown cross belt plate with strap having regimental details and voided centre with Maltese cross badge. Lion head boss with chains leading to plated whistle and holder. Complete with the original black leather pouch which has part of the original pouch badge, crown absent from badge. Leather remains in generally good condition.
Victorian 4th Volunteer Battalion Essex Rifle Volunteers Helmet Plate, brass crowned Maltese cross helmet plate with circlet having regimental details, voided centre having strung bugle with “4” to centre. Two of the three lugs remaining. Missing its blackened finish. Accompanied by a 1st Volunteer battalion Hampshire regiment other ranks helmet plate centre mounted on a reproduction backing plate. WW2 Rifle Brigade Officers Service Dress Uniform and Dress Uniform, fine set consisting of four pocket officers service dress tunic with black regimental pattern tunic buttons. Blackened regimental shoulder titles and rank insignia. Medal ribbons to the breast pocket for WW2 service with the 8th army in North Africa and Italy. Black cord lanyard attached to shoulder. Complete with the matching service dress trousers. Interior of the tunic has inked name label, “Major O.N.D Sismey Jan 1941”; Rifles pattern officers dress tunic with red piped collar, regimental pattern buttons and blackened rank insignia. Accompanied by the matching trousers; School blazer with embroidered patch to the pocket and inked name “Sismey” label to the interior. (5 items)
