The bluing finish to the metalwork is all in good order with minor wear around the edges and high points and only the occasional scratch. There has been some corrosion to the magazine which has been cleaned off and left an pitted surface. There is a small amount of pitting to the butt plate. The action appears to function correctly. The stock has no splits or repairs, there are the odd few scratches but nothing defacing.

The bore is clean with no pitting or damages and a crisp rifling pattern. The slots on the barrel tang screw and the breech plug show signs of being taken out in order to clean the gun down.

There is a serial number to the forend however the rifle has been refinished and the new varnish layer makes the stamped number hard to read. The forend has a bolt through it just ahead of the magazine which is probably not original and is perhaps added as a recoil lug similar to a mauser. The metalwork of the rifle has also been refinished. The action all appears good. The bore has two groove rifling. There is some wear around the throat but this is not significant, it is otherwise clean with good rifling.

The stock has some scratches to the finish and the odd dent, the worst being on the right-hand side of the forend but no splits or repairs. The bore is generally very good however there are some minor patches shadows that can be seen in three of the lands towards the muzzle end of the barrel.
