Vertical round pin with ball fitting and style hook fitting to the reverse. Retains original finish. Minor service wear GC.Designed by Junker of Berlin and instituted 20th December 1939.
Victorian Rifle Volunteers Officer’s Sword.A good 1845 pattern, the single-edged blade with strung bugle device and “Rifle Volunteers” surmounted by a Victorian Crown. The obverse with entwined VR cypher and crown. Fixed guard of fire gilt metal bearing entwined VR Crowned Cypher. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding complete with buff sword knot. Housed in original steel scabbard now painted black. Etching to blade clear. The sword has been refurbished at some time and now with some minor wear to plating, traces of fire gilt to the hilt. GC.

Argyll Rifle Volunteers Victorian Officer’s plaid brooch circa 1865-75.A fine and scarce unmarked silver example circa 1865-75 comprising a burnished silver hollow quoit; to the centre and extending forward approx. an inch on eight bars, a curled bugle horn surmounted by a Crown and bearing a Boar’s head to the centre. Stout pin to reverse. VGC

Thistle wreath enclosing a circlet inscribed ‘DIA AGUS AR DUTHAICH’; rampant Lion to voided centre. Stout pin to reverse. VGCAlso worn earlier by the Breadalbane Rifle Vols who became 5th VB Black Watch in 1887 by GO 181.
Scottish. 4th, Duchess Harriet’s Company (Rogart), Sutherland Rifle Volunteers pouch belt plate circa 1860.A fine and scarce Officer’s example. Silvered thistle wreath; within the wreath, an oval inscribed ‘DUCHESS HARRIET’S COMPANY (ROGART)’ surmounted by a Ducal coronet. Shield to centre bearing family arms. Three screw posts to reverse. VGCFourth company formed at their first meeting on 13th October 1860, its Officers being commissioned in January 1861.

VGCFormed in Islington 15th October, 1859 became 13th Bn. London Regt. (Kensington) in 1908.

Pouch belt plate comprising circlet inscribed ‘NISA DOMINUS FRUSTRA’ with Edinburgh Castle to centre ... pouch of black leather, the face mounted crowned strung bugle. Minor service wear, GC.
3rd Bn King’s Royal Rifle Corps Egypt Medal Clasp “El-Teb Tamaai”.Awarded to “1146 PTE T. WELLER 3/K.R.RIF C”. Contact marks to edge. Private Thomas Weller clasp entitlement is confirmed. A bricklayer by trade he enlisted in 1883 and served in Egypt from the 28th November 1883 until 23rd October 1884. He was discharged in June 1895.

Guelphic crowned ‘MIDDLESEX’ tablet on laurel sprays surrounding a Maltese cross, with ball finals to the tips and lions between the arms; to the centre, a plain dome within a circlet ‘RIFLE’; between the base of the cross and the wreath, a scroll ‘REGIMENT’. Three loops to reverse. Minor wear otherwise VGC.Raised at Paddington in 1860 as 36th ; redesignated 18th in 1880 and joined the Rifle Brigade 1881.
Zeppelin LZ85 Souvenir Letter Opener.A rare example of a piece of Zeppelin alloy fashioned into a letter opener the handle made from a rifle bullet. The alloy blade engraved Saloniquc LZ85.” Length 8 inchesLZ85 was launched on the 12th September 1915. Under the Command of Hptm Scherzer It’s main theatre of Operations was the Eastern Front. It took part in three raids on Salonika, being lost on the 5th May 1916 as a result of enemy action. All the crew were made POWs.
WW1 New Zealand Expeditionary Force Gallipoli & Western Front Snap Shot Photographs.An interesting collection of small “Box Brownie” snap shot photographs believed taken by a member of the 1st Canterbury Regiment NZEF, including Gallipoli and the Somme 1916. The images include rare front line trenches, possibly the summer of 1916, these show men looking through periscopes and one soldier firing an SMLE rifle via a periscope. Other images include military trains, downed aircraft, shell damage, groups of men, ammunition etc. One image shows three men, one with “Lemon squeezer” and two with slouch hats with text to reverse “Myself taken at Gallipoli”. A number of photographs with details to the reverse. Photographs loose, but accompanied by original photograph album. (approx 43 images) Some faded.

VGCRaised in 1859, became 1st VB Middlesex Regt. in 1898
Rifle Brigade Officer’s Astrakhan Busby.A very fine scarce example of black wool body with dark green Melton cloth crown, this figured in Russia braid. To the front a dark green mohair cord boss mounted with a King’s Crown below this a blackened curled bugle. Complete with plaited mohair lines across the front, which rise to the side and are supported by two small bugle horns. Complete with black ostrich and vulture feather plume, this supported by a blackened ball boss. The interior is with leather sweatband and cotton lining, this with tailor’s details of Pulford & Son. Complete with patent leather thin chinstrap. Overall Very good. ... Contained in original metal storage tin, this with matching tailor’s details. ... Complimented with black cord busby lines. ... Also storage tin for plume (4 Parts)
1st Nottinghamshire (Robin Hoods) Rifle Volunteer Corps Victorian green cloth helmetA good example complete with blackened metal cross piece, spike and rose bosses supporting ad leather backed chin chain. To the front, a helmet plate of crowned Maltese cross, lions between the arms; bearing title circlet, the centre with reversed and interlaced RH cypher. The interior with leather sweatband. Remains in good condition, with some age wear and stitching faults to the chin chain. GC
Queen’s Westminster Rifles Officer’s uniforms and pouch belt.A good 1880 Lieutenant’s Rifle pattern tunic of grey cloth with scarlet facings to the collar and cuffs. The cuffs are with buff mohair lace Austrian knots. To each breast five drop loops of buff mohair cord, each with purl button and with loop and olivette fastening. To the shoulder mohair plaited cords bearing two blackened silver Bath tank stars with scarlet backing. The interior is with quilted lining. VGC ... Companion Mess jacket of similar design with five drop loops but no Austrian knots to cuff decoration ... Red Mess vest with silver braid tracing down the front seams and around the two pockets ... two and a quarter inch brown leather pouch belt bearing white metal lion’s head boss supporting two chains which terminate in a whistle with ornate holder; plate of crowned portcullis with central St. George and Dragon on ‘QUEEN’S” scroll ... together with brown leather covered box pouch with white metal attachment rings, the face bearing white metal post 1901 crowned strap ‘QUEENS (WESTR) RIFLE VOLRS’; lined centre bearing portcullis.
