An early .22” Webley Mark 3 underlever air rifle, number 1731, with markings on the air chamber and also on the trigger block, the fore sight with no grooves for cover, the walnut stock with ribbed fore end and plastic medallion. GWO & basically GC (some pitting and wear, a few worm holes in the butt, several screws replaced)
A .22” Webley Mark 3 Series III underlever air rifle, number 16777, with markings on the air chamber and no telescopic sight ramp, the trigger block fitted with Parker Hale PH16M folding aperture sight, the walnut butt with early style ribbed fore end and plastic medallion with “Regd. Trade Mark”. GWO & C, retaining some original blued finish (slight scuff marks to one side of butt, loading tap retaining screw replaced)
A good .25” Webley Service Air Rifle Mark II, number S 11024, final type with push button barrel release, no safety catch, and centre hinged aperture sight, the walnut butt with chequered panels. GWO & Clean condition, retaining much original blued finish (small areas of surface rust beneath front of air chamber); in its original card box, the lid with printed label with the calibre and serial number added in blue pencil, and also marked “Special M”, the box lined with its original Non Rust paper and containing a rare original card packet of 500 Webley .25 Special Pellets, with pale blue printed label and a tin of modern .25” pellets. GC (slight damage to one end of the box lid and some wear to pellet box, but still in above average condition). Plate 10 364 A .22” prototype RH91 underlever air rifle, produced by The Park Rifle Company, 42” overall, barrel 20½” including silencer, the breech stamped “The Park Rifle Co Ltd. S/No 0692, UK Pat No 2181524 USA Pat No 4870945”, with bolt loading, the barrel situated above the air chamber, with nicely grained walnut target stock with cheek piece, roughened fore end and grip with thumb hole. GWO & C, the metalwork in plain unfinished state (some surface rust to barrel), with a photocopied article on Roy Hutchinson from “Airgun World” of May 1992, showing this gun on the right of the plate.
An early prototype .25” side lever pneumatic air rifle in semi finished state, 38¾” overall, polished steel barrel 24” which swings sideways for loading, the brass air chamber beneath with long pump lever, the modified stock of red wood with crudely finished trigger and sheet brass trigger guard, fitted with Apollo 4 x 32 telescopic sight, and with a spare .22” barrel. GC (no compression to pump); in a purpose made plywood case with foam lining; with a photocopied article on Roy Hutchinson from “Airgun World” of May 1992 showing this gun in the centre of the plate.

A charming 80 bore percussion sporting rifle, probably made for a boy or lady, 33½” overall, round barrel 17¾”, the octagonal breech with scalloped step, and with folding leaf rearsight; plain back action lock engraved “H Akrill” (Henry Esau Akrill, Beverley and Hull, 1833-58); nicely figured walnut halfstock with chequered wrist and fore end; plain German silver mounts including square back trigger guard and shield shaped escutcheon. Ephemera-a collection of early 20th century handwritten letter by a Rifle Brigade officer, Henry Maitland Wilson (later Field Marshal Lord Wilson of Libya-Commander in Chief Middle East 1943 and Supreme Allied Commander Mediterranean 1944) to his mother and father, whilst on active duty in Egypt 1904/05-include notes on travel, troop movements, daily routine, policy etc, together with a selection of letter from India circa 1906-a quantity.

WW1 1914 start trio to W.H. Heagarty CPL 6487 1/Devon R together with volunteer long service and good conduct medal marked 5900 BNDMN W. Heagarty 1/Devon & Somerset Rev. Note: the victory medal is also misspelt `H Heggarty`. Together with discharge certificate showing enlistment as musician. Medal strip with silver rosette etc. Also together with WW1 pair to pte 465 W. Heagarty rifle brigade. From the family.
An Enfield Martini-Henry rifle MK2 .577 with under lever action. No. 29213, 1877-1881. As used during the Zulu wars. De-activated but action fully working. DV certificate dated 6.5.1993. Numerous inspection/arrow marks etc. stamped Fe (Fife?) at the breach. The adjustable sight has been modified to a fixed sight in its later years. BBI.8 has been crudely stamped on one side of the breach. Some minor rust pitting where the hand would have held the barrel. It comes with a whitened buff leather sling which is arrow marked.
A socket bayonet for the Martini Henry rifle. WD marked and dated 12/87. Blade length 55cm approx. Very good condition, together with its scabbard and buff leather frog which is arrow marked and stamped. WTO 190. Very good condition for age. When fitted to the Martini rifle it makes a formidable weapon.
