A 12 BORE GERMAN WHEEL-LOCK SPORTING RIFLE BY HANNS ROHR IN BAYREUTS (SIC), DATED 1661 with octagonal swamped sighted barrel rifled with a series of slender grooves and engraved with a garland around the muzzle face, engraved with scrolling foliage and large expanded flowerheads over the breech and muzzle, the former signed and dated ahead of the back-sight, engraved tang, flat lock retained by two side nails, fitted with external wheel retained by a pierced openwork gilt-brass bracket decorated with a symmetrical arrangement of two sphinxes, fitted with sliding pan-cover with button release, finely engraved dog decorated with two monsterheads, fitted with gilt-brass bridle formed as a cherubic mask, and with an additional gilt-brass dragon, double set trigger, blackened full stock lightly carved behind the rear ramrod pipe, covered over much of its surface with large engraved silver plaques depicting scenes from the chase, including a fox with a bird-of-prey, a hunter and hound in pursuit of a boar on each side of the fore-end, a large prowling bear opposite the lock and a mounted nobleman beneath, the butt applied with further plaques including, on the left, a doe and stag in a woodland landscape on the cheek-piece and, on the right, with patchbox with sliding cover applied with a further silver plaque of a hunter in contemporary dress, pierced iron trigger-guard shaped for the fingers, silver butt-plate engraved with the owner's coat-of-arms and numbered '9', and silver fore-end cap (later ramrod and ramrod-pipe, some silver plaques restored), the cheek-piece applied with an early red wax gewehrkammer seal 83.0 cm; 32 3/4 in barrel Hans Ruehrer is recorded active in Bayreuth, Bayern, circa 1658.

G. RAWBONE PATENTEE AND MANUFACTURER' within a frame of Greek key behind, scroll-engraved case-hardened breech struck with the gold-lined barrelsmith's mark, scroll-engraved bolster with engraved platinum plug (each side of the top flat with areas of light pitting), scroll-engraved case-hardened tang, border-and scroll-engraved signed case-hardened lock fitted with hammer en suite, half-stock with chequered grip (light bruising), inlaid with a small engraved German silver scroll on the left, scroll-engraved blued iron mounts (small areas of light pitting and wear) comprising trigger-guard, butt-plate, fore-end, rear ramrod-pipe and barrel bolt escutcheons, two further ramrod-pipes, the rear with a loop for a sling (the other sling swivel missing), and original brass-tipped wooden ramrod 81.5 cm; 32 1/8 in barrel William George Rawbone (1809-93) is recorded as a gunmaker with workshops in Birmingham, England, Cape Town, South Africa and, latterly, in Toronto, Canada. In 1862 his patent no. 2530 was granted for '..... improvements in gun barrels, and in machinery to be employed in effecting [them]..... a sighting line formed on the top of the barrels, or the mid-rib, by fixing silver wire in a square groove therein.....'

It has been suggested that the group was made for Hompesch's Hussars though this appears extremely unlikely for a number of reasons. See DeWitt Bailey 2002, pp. 98-102.

A Ming Guard's rifle, sword and mask from Mike Hodges' sci-fi adventure Flash Gordon. The guards of Ming the Merciless (Max von Sydow) wore masks and were armed with swords to protect their emperor. Swords and rifles formed part of the armoury aboard the War Rocket Ajax, with Ming's soldiers defending the ship with rifles, while Flash (Sam J. Jones) wielded a sword after disrupting Ming and Dale's (Melody Anderson) wedding.The rifle is predominantly made of fibreglass with gold-and-red foil detailing. It features a hollow barrel and solid trigger. The resin-and-fibreglass sword comprises a guard, a red grip, and a curved blade with a metallic faux-gold finish and a decorative round protrusion containing an embedded star-shaped sigil. Made of fibreglass, the skull-like mask is painted faux gold with detailed eye sockets and nose. Two thin elastic straps are attached on both sides and at the top. A special effects Hawkman rifle from Mike Hodges' sci-fi adventure Flash Gordon. Hawkmen used their rifles while attacking the War Rocket Ajax. The weapon is predominantly made of cast fibreglass, and painted black and gold. It features a guard over the forearm, fashioned in the shape of bird feathers, and the barrel also bears a feather motif. In place of a trigger, there is a metal switch which would have illuminated the end of the barrel, to mimic laser fire. There is a power input on the right side of the weapon, but the bulb in the end of the barrel is no longer present. The gun has some wear from production use and age, including scuffing, scratches and areas where the paint has chipped away. The gold paint has faded or worn away in places. The Major's (Scarlett Johansson) stunt police bike Tavor rifle from Rupert Sanders' live-action sci-fi adaptation Ghost in the Shell. The Major used her weapon when she fought against Cutter (Peter Ferdinando), who had deployed a spider-tank to kill her and Kuze (Michael Pitt).Heavily modified by the production to give it a futuristic appearance, the design of this weapon is based on a IWI X95 rifle. The gun is cast from dense urethane finished in black, and features a faux scope, a cocking handle on the left side of the body, a large trigger guard, a static trigger and a detailed grip. Minor wear is present from use on production, and the paint finish has flaked away in some areas. A light-up AR-2 rifle from Jean-Pierre Jeunet's sci-fi sequel Alien Resurrection. AR-2 rifles were carried by Marines aboard the USM Auriga, and then picked up by the crew of the Betty after the xenomorphs escaped. The rifle has three firing modes in the film: assault rifle, flamethrower and grenade launcher. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) used the flamethrower function to destroy her seven previous failed clones.The weapon is predominantly made of resin and is painted faux-silver and black. It features a torch on the front, which is powered by three 3V batteries and illuminated by flicking the metal switch located in front of the magazine. It has two metal loops at the top for mounting a sling. The rifle has some wear from production use, with considerable scuffing and scratching to the paintwork and some denting to the resin. James Bond's (Pierce Brosnan) AKS-74U from Martin Campbell's Bond film GoldenEye. Bond picked up his weapon from a Russian soldier when he and fellow 00 Agent Alec Trevelyan (Sean Bean) infiltrated a chemical weapons facility. After the mission went wrong, Bond used the rifle to fight his way out of the building. He later used an AKS-74U when confronting Trevelyan on his armoured train. In addition to Goldeneye, the weapon was also supplied for the character of James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) in Die Another Day, and Alex West (Daniel Craig) in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Featuring a wooden pistol grip and handguard, the weapon is sympathetically and permanently deactivated, with a functioning trigger and folding buttstock that can be extended or folded to the side. There is some wear from production use and age, including scuffs and scratches, most notably on the handguard. Accompanying the lot is a letter of authenticity from Bapty Ltd. confirming its use in the films, as well as a certificate of deactivation. Tequila used his weapon when he intercepted Merlin (Mark Strong) and Eggsy (Taron Egerton) as they infiltrated the Statesman HQ.The gun is a rubber version of a Marlin Model 1895SBL lever-action rifle. It is handpainted to give the impression of a stainless steel finish with a grey laminated wooden stock.The rifle has some wear from production use, including scuffing and scratches to the paintwork, most notably on the barrel.
